ReelVenue feature guide
Use this guide to learn how every part of ReelVenue works—from signing in to running venues, booking screenings, and planning your next movie night.
Getting started & navigation
Sign in with Google: Use the Login with Google button in the top navigation to authenticate. After signing in, your profile avatar appears with a dropdown menu.
Choose your role: New users are prompted to select a role (Theater Owner, Filmmaker, or Film Fan). You can enable multiple roles in Manage account and pick a default landing experience.
Switch between experiences: Open the user menu and choose a role from Switch role to jump directly to that dashboard.
Return to the marketing site: Click the ReelVenue logo or the Home link in the header to revisit the landing page sections such as Features and About.
Account & profile settings
Open the Manage account option in the user menu to edit your display name, phone, and preferred email. These contact fields populate booking requests and partner communications.
Select any combination of roles to unlock the matching dashboards. Set your Default landing experience so ReelVenue opens to your most-used workspace after sign-in.
Under Viewing preferences, pick genres and add custom interests. Film Fans receive sharper recommendations, and filmmakers can preview how their titles may match audience tastes.
Use Followed creators & venues to prioritize alerts and surface shows from your favorite filmmakers, collectives, or theaters.
Theater Owner dashboard
List venues: Use List a new venue to publish auditoriums with capacity, projection details, and booking policies. The Manage Venue modal lets you edit addresses, contact info, amenities, and availability windows.
Bookings inbox: The Filmmaker pitches & holds card shows incoming requests. Review the assets, respond to holds, and archive or confirm screenings directly from this list.
Invoices & payouts: Track Outstanding balance, Due within 7 days, and Paid this month. Each invoice entry summarizes settlement status for your accepted bookings.
Opening short partners: Monitor opener commitments, fees collected, and promo kits received. Approvals flow back to filmmakers in their Opening short partners section.
Performance analytics: Filter by time range and venue to review gross revenue, net margin, loyalty impact, partner ratings, and payout status. Use the venue breakdown and drilldown list for per-screen insights.
Marketing resources: Store marketing templates, campaign assets, storage references, and community notes so filmmakers can quickly promote your shows. Upload files or paste links to external drives.
Venue signals: The Signal boosts card reminds you to keep policies, capacities, and delivery instructions current so your listings rank well for touring filmmakers.
Filmmaker dashboard
Manage your slate: Add each project to the Film slate so you can toggle between titles without losing edits.
Project toolkit: Fill in the film profile with runtime, genres, projection format, logline, distribution goals, audience fit, pricing policies, and merch or VIP plans. Defaults pre-fill every booking request.
Streaming & DCP delivery: Declare streaming availability, set VOD pricing, upload mezzanine assets, and generate time-limited playback links. Use the DCP delivery panel to upload packages, set expirations, and share projection notes.
Book a screen: Filter marketplace listings by location, date, budget, capacity, genre, and whether the slot welcomes opening shorts. Save or reset filters as you plan your route.
Tour planner: Add venues to a multi-city itinerary, compare by route order or market strength, export routes, and save multiple versions for later editing.
Upcoming bookings & invoices: Track confirmed and pending screenings, then monitor settlements in the Invoices card (authorized, pending, fulfilled totals).
Performance analytics: Review revenue, ticket sales, partner ratings, and recent screenings once ticketing data is available.
Reputation & feedback: Rate venues after each event, monitor audience feedback averages and promoter rate, and surface highlight quotes for marketing.
Opening short partners: Approve or decline opener applications, track revenue splits, promo kits, and the latest approvals.
Film Fan dashboard
Discover screenings: Use the search grid to filter by keywords, location, radius, date range, price, genre, and format. Toggle options for available seats, ReelVenue ticketing only, and premieres.
Personal alerts: Configure alert channels (email, SMS, push) and pick alert types like premieres, Q&As, loyalty milestones, watchlist openings, or nearby shows. Saved settings drive the alert summary copy.
Recommendations: Personalized picks appear once you set viewing preferences or follow creators/venues. Clear filters anytime with Reset filters.
Explore theaters: The discovery map highlights participating venues and showcases social proof like partner ratings and amenities.
Reviews & moderation: Submit film and venue reviews with a 1–5 rating and headline. The moderation notice explains that sensitive language may be queued before publishing.
Watchlists & sharing: Build a playlist of screenings or films, add notes, and copy shareable links via the Share playlist control once entries exist.
Loyalty & invites: Track loyalty points and their cash value, then send invite links to friends with personalized messages and view RSVP status in the invite list.
Short film marketplace
The marketplace highlights counts for available openings, the estimated revenue pool, and promo kits shared. The list refreshes as theaters post new opportunities.
Apply as a filmmaker: Select an opening slot, then complete the application form with your name, email, film title, runtime, preferred revenue share, promo links, and the slot you are targeting. Terms must be accepted before submitting.
Owner visibility: The same commitments and promo kits appear in the Theater Owner dashboard so teams can approve, track fees, and coordinate materials.
Tips, support, and sign-out
Close dialogs quickly: Each modal includes a close or cancel control, and clicking the backdrop also dismisses most overlays.
Keep data fresh: Save forms after making edits (venue settings, film profiles, alert preferences). Many lists show a feedback label confirming successful updates.
Sign out: Open the user menu and choose Sign out to end your session and return to the marketing site.
